Bespoke Desks for Seed

Project Overview

Seed, a Brighton-based B Corp web marketing company, committed to sustainability both within their operations and in their work, sought to expand their office while incorporating biophilic elements to enhance the work environment. They wanted a solution that maximised their available space, improved functionality, and aligned with their eco-conscious ethos.

Collaborating with architect Crispin from Engaging Interiors, Morph Bricks delivered a creative solution: two bespoke desk layouts featuring inbuilt planters at the office entrance. The final design provided:

• Nine workstations
• Three meters of inbuilt planters
• A unique layout that efficiently utilised space, even wrapping around a central pillar

Sustainable Design in Action

Traditional vs. Morph Bricks Approach:

• A traditional build would require costly, fixed carpentry that lacks flexibility and risks ending up in landfill when needs evolve.

• Morph Bricks used Morph RE black recycled ABS bricks, topped with matching worksurfaces for a cohesive look. The modular system allows the furniture to be disassembled and reused in new configurations, aligning with Seed’s circular economy principles.

Environmental Impact:

• Eliminated waste and avoided landfill contributions
• Minimized carbon emissions by using recycled materials
• Provided a durable, adaptable solution for future needs

Installation Benefits

• Quick Turnaround: The desks were installed in a single day
• No Disruption: Noise, mess, and downtime often associated with traditional carpentry were avoided
• Visual Appeal: Integrated planters added natural greenery, enhancing the biophilic design
